Frequently Asked Questions
We’ve developed premium coffee roasted, ground, and packaged right here in America. Whether you prefer the bold, uncompromising flavors of a dark roast like Teddy’s Darkness to Dawn, or you lean a little moderate and want a smooth and balanced medium roast, Rojo Elephant offers a range of options for the palate of every patriot.
We’ve made sure that our coffee is cultivated at elevations soaring beyond 4,500 feet. When coffee is grown at a higher altitude, the cooler temperatures slow the development and ripening of the beans. Our coffee is more nutrient-dense and better in taste as a result. It’s the way coffee was meant to be—strong and bold.
We don’t compromise on our values—or the taste of our coffee. Shade grown means that we grow our coffee plants under a sun filtering canopy, which allows the beans to mature slower and become denser and harder. The final coffee product boasts a much better flavor than coffee beans that aren’t shade grown, delivering excellence in every sip.
All of our coffee comes from one area of one farm, also known as “single origin.” Our single origin approach means you can trust that every bean in each roast is as high-quality as the next. When you order Rojo Elephant, you’re not just ordering coffee. You’re making a statement that you know the best things in life come from a single, trustworthy source.
Each batch of Rojo Elephant Coffee is roasted fresh when you order. We’re not a fan of one-size-fits-all operations, and we make sure to reflect that in our products. In fact, our coffee is so fresh that we recommend waiting seven days off roast to brew it in order for the coffee to properly degas, which coincides perfectly with the seven days it takes to get to you. That way, you know you’re receiving the freshest coffee possible.
We let our coffee degas for a few days to ensure quality. By the time coffee arrives at your doorstep, it'll be ready.
To preserve the freshness of your coffee, store it in an airtight container at room temperature. Avoid exposure to excessive air, moisture, heat, and light.
